Collaboration Self-Assessment

 

1.      You will describe your strengths and weaknesses regarding these self-assessments.

My strengths lie in my flexibility and desire to put forth my best effort on assigned tasks. I can take the role of a leader or a follower as a task calls for it. I also welcome and encourage a collaborative environment where anyone can share ideas no matter if they believe it will be well received or not.

 

2.      What is your plan for using your strengths to enhance the collaborative nature of your current position.
My plan is to use my strengths as a leader and follower to set the example of a collaborative group effort, and facilitate discussion in an environment of respect and courtesy. If necessary, I can help lead the collaboration as necessary and then step back into a follower role.
  

3.      How can you improve upon your weaknesses to become a more skilled and effective collaborators?

My main weaknesses are time management and preparedness. I can improve on these weaknesses by creating a schedule, and materials I will need in advance with that calendar. In that way, I can consistently bring needed materials in a timely fashion, which goes into managing my own time and stay on schedule.

4.      What is the "climate" of collaboration in your current work environment?
Generally, the collaboration climate is positive in my current work environment. I feel everyone is able to share their opinions freely without feeling humiliated or mocked.
 

5.      Are there any unique opportunities to collaborate that you have not already take advantage of?

Currently, I am involved with a number of collaborations, so my schedule is very full. However, I always look forward to new opportunities to work with other as it has been positive experiences overall.
